Mishcon de Reya sponsor TCC Diamonds T20 kits
The club is delighted to announce a new partnership with high profile London and Singapore based Lawyers firm Mishcon de Reya.
Mishcon de Reya
employ more than 900 people with over 500 lawyers offering a wide range of legal and related services to companies and individuals.
The link between the Torrisholme Diamonds and Mishcon de Reya
comes via junior parent Helen Sim and her brother-in-law Jonathan Legg, who is a partner in the Law firm. A £500
contribution from Mishcon along with a personal donation from Jonathan will enable our fantastic girls team to have sponsored T20 shirts and hoodies for the season.
Jack Heap and Jez Cheeseman (our TCC Diamonds' coaches) and the club committee would like to thank Jonathan and Mishcon de Reya
for this fantastic contribution, which in turn will help continue to raise the profile of girls cricket in the area, and assist the club in its continued work to encourage girls to play cricket. You can visit their website at www.mishcon.com.
Following a 1st round bye, the Torrisholme Diamonds have been drawn at home to face Ramsbottom Girls
in the second round of Lady Taveners Under 15 T20 Competition this year. This is a National hard ball competition with Lancashire based rounds to begin with. The girls previously entered the Under 13 version of the competition in 2019, beating Lindal Moor
in Round 1, but lost out away to Leyland Ladies U13
in Round 2 (The 2020 competition was unfortunately cancelled due to Covid restrictions).
During the 2021 season we will be looking to enter more girls only hard and softball festivals, along with a number of friendlies with other local sides.
Torrisholme CC has a growing number of girls throughout our junior sections from All Stars
aged 5-8 years old, through to Under 16. Any girls based in the local area and interested in joining the Torrisholme Diamonds are urged to get in touch. Even if you enjoy playing mixed cricket for another local junior side that is fine. You could still represent the Diamonds in an all-girl fixture, if your club doesn't have an all-girls side. We have one girl involved who does just that. The Diamonds hard ball squad (12-16 year olds) are set to begin training sessions every Friday night from the 16th April, between 6.30pm and 8pm.
Coaches of other north-west based women and girls sides who are keen to arrange friendly fixtures are encouraged to get in touch with Jack and Jez by emailing jez@torrisholmecc.co.uk
